I believe in the power of a really good question. I believe in reality checks and relationships, in scholarship and activism, in equity and inclusion. I believe in civil conversations about challenging issues and wearing my emotions and beliefs on my sleeve. I believe in living love, teaching peace, and fighting unfairness wherever it exists.
Over nearly 30 years in education and related non-profits, I have been privileged to learn from some of the best and to work with students at every level of education from early childhood through graduate school and with amazing colleagues committed to social justice.
In some ways, the experiences were similar: each of us needs to be healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged to be successful; each of us learns and thrives through relationships built on trust; and each of us faces moments of vulnerability and courage regardless of age, role, or setting.
In others, I have had the opportunity to learn and teach specific skills and content with true experts in the field. My influences are broad from Dr. James P. Comer, my true hero in education, to Billy Shore, the CEO and Founder of Share Our Strength and a master of strategic questioning. Who are yours and how does your work reflect their influence?
Let’s work together to build stronger schools, organizations and communities. Let’s partner to motivate, engage and support those serving students, families and clients every day. Let’s build on your strengths for the best solutions to your needs in your context. Let’s make it happen together.
